Permaculture?, homesteading?, sustainability?

 I'm trying to find a name for all the organic gardening, homesteading, fruit & nut tree growing, greenhouse, root cellaring interests I have so I can find my people. Well, it's all chaos right now. I guess "Permaculture" is close but it doesn't really cover everything. Hmmm. I think I will try to organize some resources and then figure it out later!

*Back in the day they used to be called "Back-to-the-Landers" but no one uses that term anymore.

Preserving

I'm still trying to find out the best way to preserve rice. I did not know that canning and preserving is a highly controversial right now! I did learn, for a fact, that you can't, so far, preserve brown rice because the oils in it will just make it go rancid quickly. Damn! If I find the best way to preserve rice I will post it here.
